The San Blas Spanish school supports various social projects, about 30 in total. After or during your classes, you can decide to help in 1 of these volunteer projects.
This
is a great opportunity to get involved, get an idea of the social issues in Peru, exchange ideas and use the Spanish you've learned during your classes,
in a practical setting.
You can work with / in
- Streetkids
- Revalidation centers (kids and adults)
- Clinicas
- Drug adictos
- Psychriatric clinic
- Youth prison
- Orphanages
- Special education
- Prioject with mentally handicapped boys and girls
- Project with abused children

- Primary and secundary schools
It is possible to do internships as a social worker, in pedagogy, tourism or in a medical field, such as psychology, physiotherapy, general medicine, pediatrics etc.The
most of the projects have a minimum working period of 4 weeks. Also you
have to have at least a basic level of Spanish. If you
want to work as a professional or do your internship a higher level is
required. Also
the projects require you to buy your own material, since they often do
not have the money to buy it.
!!
The volunteer program is only available through our international contacts.

Besides the projects in Cusco, the School initiated its own voluntary
project in which you can participate. This project takes place
in Cai Cay, a small village 1 hour from Cusco, in between mountains, besides
the Urubamba River.
The project is an established Non Governmental Organizations called "Fe
y Esperanza". The purpose is to broaden the kid's vision of the world,
giving them confidence and help them build a future of their own.
Volunteers work with about 25 school kids after school.
The children are in the ages between 5 and 12 years old. Volunteers help
them with their homework, give them lessons in English, or another language,
teach them to cultivate ground in a sustainable way or play soccer and
volleyball. Volunteers can use the materials that are present, such as
coloring books, notebooks, reading material etc. Volunteers work here
in the afternoon for a period as from 1 week. In the morning it is possible
to work at the local schools; kindergarten, primary and secundary schools. You can find more information and photos
